Run It Forward, Inc. (a non-profit 501(c)3 organization) was established in 2008 by the Wess Family from Cincinnnati, OH after several members of the family had been affected in many ways by various types of cancers.  The foundation was created to help raise awareness, draw attention to the neeed for ongoing cancer research, and to raise funds for top research facilities across the nation.  Also, our hope is to be able to assit individuals fighting the costly treatments for cancer.

In order to help win this battle, Run It Forward, Inc. will help support diverse and innovative centers in the expectation that each institute will find a different piece to the puzzle and that, together, we will find a cure for many types of cancer.

In 2009, we held our first fundraising event by hosting a 5k Run/Walk in Sharon Woods, Sharonville, OH.  At that time, we were pleasantly surprised that we attracted 90 participants.  Last year we had just over 200 participants and brought in approximately $17,000.  Over the last three years we have raised just over $50,000. 

All those associated with Run It Forward, Inc., and involved in putting on the events have been strictly voluntary and not compensated for their time and talents.  With no paid members, we have been able to donate nearly all funds raised to the desired research organizations whil also promoting wellness to those in southern Ohio Communities.

We are excited to be hosting the fourth annual Run It Forward, Inc. 5k Run/Walk on Saturday, April, 28, 2012.  This year we are planning for 300 participants and expect approximately 350-400 to be present the day of the race. 

This year we will raise money to support the Multiple Myeloma Resarch Foundation and the Kidney Cancer Association in honor of Marge and memory of Lawrence Wess. For more information regarding these tow foundations, please visit their websites at www.MultipleMyeloma.org and www.KidneyCancer.org.
